Privacy Policy
Effective October 28, 2026
Clearance Score ("we," "us") makes the Clearance Score iPhone app, which scans a home and scores how ready it is for a home robot. This policy explains what the app collects, what it never collects, and how that data is used.
The short version: the app saves an anonymous copy of your scan (room sizes, door widths, stairs, and WiFi strength). It never collects your name, address, photos, or location. We use this data to improve scores and may share or license it to robot makers and researchers. Using the app requires agreeing to this.
What we collect
When you finish scanning a home, the app sends us an anonymous copy of the measurements:
- Room sizes, room types (such as kitchen or bedroom), and which level each room is on
- Doorway widths, walkway widths, ceiling heights, and how much floor is open
- Stairs: number of steps, step height, width, and whether there is a railing or landing
- WiFi download speed, upload speed, and response time in each room tested
- A random ID for the scan, the app version, the version of this policy you agreed to, and the date the scan was received
What we never collect
- Your name, email, phone number, or any account (the app has no sign-up)
- Your address or location. The app does not use GPS or location services
- Photos, video, or camera images. The camera is used only on your phone to measure, and images are never saved or sent
- Names you type for rooms or your home. These stay on your phone and are removed before anything is sent
- Advertising IDs or device identifiers
The 3D model and floor plan of your home are created and stored on your phone. They are not sent to us.
How we use it
- To calculate and improve Clearance Scores
- To study what homes need for robots, such as typical doorway widths and stair layouts
- To share or license anonymous, combined data to robot makers, researchers, and other partners
Data we share or license never includes anything that identifies you, because we never collect anything that identifies you.
WiFi test
To measure WiFi, the app downloads and uploads small test files from Cloudflare's speed test servers. Like any website, Cloudflare receives your internet connection's IP address during the test. We do not receive or store your IP address with your scan.
Where data is stored
Anonymous scans are stored with Supabase, our database provider, in the United States. Access is limited to us. The app can add new scans but cannot read anyone's data, including yours.
Your choices
- Agreeing to this policy is required to use the app. If you don't agree, don't use the app
- Scans are sent only when you tap Finish home. Deleting the app stops any further data from being sent
- Because scans contain nothing that identifies you, we can't look up or delete a specific person's scan
Children
The app is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect information from children.
Changes to this policy
If we change what we collect or how we use it, we'll update this page and the app will ask you to agree to the new version before you continue.
